Not sure what your interests are, here are my favorite non-fiction book

Devil in the White City by Erik Larsen- about the 1893 Columbian Exhibition and Dr Holmes, a serial killer who preyed on the people pouring into Chicago at the time. It's a great read and if you like true crime and history.

Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand- so much better than the movie. If you haven't read this book, I really recommend it.

Reading Lolita in Terhran by Azar Nafisi- it'll make you so thankful for the simple freedoms we enjoy here in the US everyday. A female college professor holds an underground reading group for her former students once the government passes a law that females were no longer able to attend the university.

This one had me creeped out for weeks afterwards! But very good read!

David Sedaris' books always made me laugh during my commutes...

I second David Sedaris. Any of Malcolm Gladwell's books are great too--I especially liked The Tipping Point and Outliers. He has a new book out too that I'll bet is good.

How could I forget David Sedaris????? I love him! I like to describe him as the guy at a party that tells really great stories but who you don't want to give your real name to. My favorite of his is Me Talk Pretty One Day. But if you've ever worked retail, you'll love his short collection called Holiday on Ice. It's about his experiences as an elf at Macy's.
