We had to take my pup to stay in the hospital for a few days, and I'm so upset.

She's quite ill, and we're still waiting for some tests back to determine which chronic condition she has.  It's either pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas, chronic, can be fatal) or Addison's disease (an adrenal disorder, long-term meds but treatable).  She has to stay in the hospital on an IV for 4 or 5 days before we can even bring her home.  We're really wishing we'd gotten pet insurance, among other things.

Anyway, any spare good thoughts sent our way would be appreciated.  We're keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best, for now.

ETA:  Sorry, I guess I should have post this in the pets section, huh?

I'm so sorry to hear your pup-pup is sick. I hope she's better soon! I know it is so nerve-racking when they're not well. But, she's getting the care she needs. Hope you're all feeling better soon!

Thanks, gals!

Her test results finally came back, and what looked really bad going in turned out not to be, by some twist of fate.  It turns out she has very, very upset intestines, but it doesn't look like it's tied to a larger chronic condition at this point.  We got to bring her home because she responded well to her meds, and are keeping her on a bland diet, fluids and rest.  She sure gave us a good scare though!
