I'm in mad sick love with this top, but I don't need it. $99 at Anthro (it's by Mint).

dinner party blouse

Is it worth getting anyway? I just think it's so utterly awesome, even with destroyed jeans and gold flips or something.

wow, that's soo beautiful.  i picture it with a black satin skirt and red heels to dress it up.  or like you said, jeans, flip flops.  or even a pretty print skirt with heels.

hmm, all of which i also have in my closet.    damn you lilykind!!!!

It is cute but in my opinion NOT worth $99!

there are worse ways to blow a hundre bucks. i would say try it on first and see how you feel.. if you're still in love, give it some real consideration, but don't stress about yet until you've seen it on.

i just wanted to add that when you posted that top i thought it would easily be $200.  so i don't think $100 is that bad considering you can that, or two crappy tops for $48.  i'm the worst enabler.

I actually tried it on last night...that's how I fell in love. I found the last one in my size at my local Anthro.

If you tried it on and loved it on you, I'd say it's worth it. It;s unique yet versatile, and it sounds like you love it because it's perfectly 'you,' which is valuable.

in that case, I think it's worth it, unless you're one of those people who gets over stuff pretty fast (I'm usually like that). $100 is a bit pricey, but not unreasonable, especially for a silk blouse, which is what this looks like. you could get SO MUCH wear out of it. It really is beautiful.

if it makes you feel better, spend $100 less shopping this month that you would have- and I don't mean spend less this month and then spend an extra $100 next month! $100 less, period. or sell stuff on eBay or half.com. so if you make $50 on something you sell, it's like you only spent $50 on that blouse.

The thing is...i'm going to be in NYC later this month and then I'll have access to all my favorite stores that I don't have in LA (most notably H&M). I'm trying to excercise self-control, because much as I want the shirt, I don't need it. Maybe I'll just think of the 5 cute things I can get from H&M for the price of that Anthro shirt or something. But life would be so different if I didn't have to live on an assisstant's salary.

It sounds like you really want to be talked out of the top even though you do love it.  I know it is hard to pass on something you really want, but overcoming temptation is the best feeling.  Resist the urge; be strong enough to control yourself and reward yourself as planned in NY.  You will probably be happier in the long run.
