I'm so very excited and I had to share!! I'm what one would call an "amateur" artist. A local AIDS hospice is having a huge charity auction/benefit thing next month and they were accepting local artists' submissions to be auctioned off. (Artist splits proceeds 50/50.) And guess what? I submitted 2 pieces and they want them both!!!! I'm super-psyched because this is the first time I've ever submitted work to anyone and they want it!!!!! Yay! And, best case scenario, I get some $$$ from it and the hospice does, too. How cool would that be? Of course there's always the possibility the pieces won't sell and I guess that won't be terrible because I'll get my art back.
Okay I'm done - just had to share or I am going to explode!
congrats! that's so awesome!! what a sense of accomplishment, personally, as well as for the hospice. do you have any pics of your artwork? i would love to see it. my bf and i love browsing art, and recently bought a piece when we were in austin. maybe you know his work.. here's a link...
is austin a big "art" city (for lack of a better phrase?). i know that santa fe is amazing (i could've spent thousands and thousands of dollars there) thank god we have 20 foot ceilings!
anyways, that's sooo freaking exciting!

Awww, y'all are all so sweet!!! Austin is a great art town, so it's pretty exciting to be a part of it. I don't have any pics yet (I know, bad blubirde!) but I'm going to go over and take some Friday I think and I'll definitely post them. Okay, I say definitely but I'd be pretty nervous to post them... I'm such a dork!
these two are acrylics but i prefer oils. oils just take too long though. i'm too impatient to wait the week or so for each layer to dry... which is altogether sad but oh well!
