Marketing Director

*Job Description

This position is part time, approx. 20 hour per week for the next two months. The candidate must have magazine marketing experience, preferably with a well known publisher e.g. Time Inc., Rodale. The primary focus of this marketing director position is to work with the sales team in the development of strategic proposals for a wide variety of sponsor prospects. Knowledge of MRI and MARS databases required and Pharma experience a plus.

·            Directs and controls the market research function for all, or a major portion, of the organization’s channels, products and marketing and promotional campaigns.

·            Accountable for collecting and reporting meaningful data about current and potential users and/or customers that result in competitive advantage for the organization’s content, programs, products and services.

·            Develops methods for measuring market response to sites, products and marketing campaigns.

·            Guides the development and execution of data-driven and customer focused research programs.

·            Researches and tracks competitive trends and user responses, and recommends changes to marketing strategies, content or products based upon findings.

·            Communicates findings to top management.

·            Ensures that new market segments are researched and identified and that appropriate, targeted programs are developed for those segments deemed important.

·            Directs market research managers and analysts.

·            Ensures their development and training.

Update:

They are looking for a person who has publishing experience with magazines and NOT books. Someone skilled with either MRI and/or MARS databases along with “Rodale” background (Rodale has been the leading publisher of information on healthy, active lifestyles for more than 60 years)
