Here are pictures of my new kitten. She is 9 weeks old and still doesn't have a name. Any suggestions throw them my way.
**Update** So it looks like Wallis (I got the name from Wallis Simpson and Carries bf's mom- Rhoda/Valerie Harper- on SATC was also named Wallis. Her bf's name was Vaughan) and Stella are the two in the running. I really like Vaughan, but my mom doesn't like it as much as the other two. Ultimatley it is up to me, but I do want my mom to like the name.

OMG, she's beautiful! Ive been wanting an all gray kitty. . Lucky! As far as names, i like naming cats people names: Madeline came to mind when I saw her. :)
Darn my allergies!! All these kitty posts make me want to get one, but I'm allergic. That and my apt doesn't allow pets. I WILL find a drug that will not make me sneeze and someday I'll get a cat.
I don't have any name suggestions, but your kitty is too adorable!

Their supposed to stay with their mama for the first 6 weeks - after that they should be fine on their own.

At the shelter I work at we will not adopt them out before 8 weeks- NO EXCEPTIONS. That is pretty standard for respectable shelters, but respectable breeders let them leave their mom until 12 weeks.
I would have liked my kitten to stay w/ her mom until 12, but her mom had an upper respitoray infection and they kittens could not be around her. I decided to take her home early.
I work at a vet and volunteer at a shelter and we see a lot of behavioural problems that can happend if you give them away too soon. It is not a guarentee, but there are risks.
I would say anytime after 8 weeks. Just as long as they are using the litterbox on their own and eating solid food. We had a kitten that was 6 months that came into work the other day and he still doesn't use the litter box. He was taken away from his mom at 2 weeks and never learned how to. The new owners are having a really hard time teaching him how to.

your kitty is so cute. unfortunately don't have any name suggestions. you guys and your pictures are totally turning me into a cat person, and i never really cared for them before.
Look at those eyes and her coat! She is goregous! I love the third picture with her all wide-eyed like that. Oh my God, and is she carrying that big ole pink puff ball in her mouth like a dog? that is too precious! It's like the size of her head! Is she a russian blue? she kind of looks like one. if she is, I think it would be cute to give her a russian name, like natasha. I like Nylabelle's suggestion of Sophie.

The pink furry thing is her Barbie slipper. It is this pink fleece shaped slipper. I got her a trillion Barbie cat toys for her.
She isn't a Russian Blue. She is a domestic short hair. I brought her into work the other day ( I work @ a vet) and a well known breeder of Russian Blues in our area was in with her cat for a check-up and she was postive my kitten was a Russian Blue. I told her nope- I know who the mom is and her mom is just a domestic short hair.
I really love the name Sophia. I want to name a daughter that, but my aunt has a boy cat (we thought he was a girl when we got him) named Sophie, so that name is definatley out for a cat.
