My Review for L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tanning Wipes
Permalink Closed

I bought this on a whim for $10.  You get 6 wipes; I'm not sure if that is expensive compared to other tanning products, because I have limited experience.

http://www.lorealparisusa.com/frames.asp#skincare/index.asp You have to click onto "sun" in the list on the right, then "Sublime Bronze" (the one with the box) to see more info.

I have limited experience with self-tanners because I always hated application.  Last year I used my Fake Bake once, and never again, because of the application alone.  I have tried other lotions in the past, but again, I hate the required careful application.

I have used L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Wipes for three nights in a row because it is so easy to use.  You simply start wiping the wipe all over your body and unfold it as it gets dry.  I did my arms and legs and don't really think there is enough moistness to get your entire body done, but I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure, but it seems like it is just enough for my arms and legs.

I applied it first on a morning before work.  I got dressed in about ten minutes, but could have sooner, as it dries very quickly.  I am normally very sensitive to perfumey smells, and I would describe the scent as slightly perfumey (maybe a little floral-musky scent?), yet I wasn't the least bit bothered by the scent.  It certainly didn't have that awful self tanner smell I hear about; if anything the smell was quite nice.  I washed my hands several times that morning, which proved to be a problem, because the water dripped all down my arms and washed the tanner off in several places on my arms and hands.  I blame myself.  Otherwise, I had a nice, but faint tan  -more so on my arms where I started and less so on my legs where I finished.

That night after showering I applied another towel, this time starting with my legs since I wanted more color there.  I finished with my arms, being careful to pay extra attention to the white spots from that morning.  I didn't wash my hands afterward.  Instead, I used a wet washcloth that I prepared earlier with a little bit of soap; I simply rubbed my palms on the wash cloth well, then dried them quickly.  Then next morning I was even happier with the color, and very pleased to see my arms were nicely tanned and the white spots blended perfectly.

I used another towel last night, but wasn't so careful about not washing my hands (I wash my hands an awful lot, probably more than normal people, but not as bad as OC types), so I had a couple white spots right by my wrists, but they are only noticeable on close examination, nothing I am embarressed about.  My legs look a perfect, golden brown.  My SO was impressed with my tan.

No staining occured, no stinkiness, no difficulty in applying -simply keep wiping and be gentle around elbows, knees, etc., and no lengthy time wait to get dressed.

I love this stuff and will not even bother to try anything else as I am so happy.

I've tried these and had horrible results. It streaked so bad, and I'm usually pretty good at applying fake sun tans. I have 5 towelettes sitting in the box that I'll never use again. I thought the color was really orange as well. Maybe it's just me. I have pretty fair skin being a redhead. I was not happy with the results at all. Guess it just depends on the person using it.

I'm starting to understand the whole lot of beauty products vary in performance from person to person.

I am fair with light hair and it works great on me.  Sorry it didn't work out for you.
