My 17-year old cat, Cleo has been diagnosed with kidney failure and our vet said she doesn't have a lot longer left. She has been taking medication for hyper thyroid for abut the past ten years and is in pretty good shape, considering.
This morning she was out playing in the yard. There was a scuffle in the bushes and she came out with a bird in her mouth! The other birds in the yard were dive bombing her but she was soooo pleased with herself.
I just had to laugh because at 17 with hyper thyroid, kidney failure and a touch of arthritis, she's still got enough piss and vinegar to be a little hunter.

Good for Cleo! I bet she is darn proud of herself.
On a sad note, I ost my kitty, Halle, to kidney failure not too long ago (two of my childhood cats also succumbed to it). It is hard, but just love her as much as you can right now. On a happier note, I just brought a new kitten home the other day and I am already in love!
