Quick if you can - Sites that display event photos nicely

I am helping to put together the website for my Center, and the way we currently display photos of events in very boring. Just a photo and a line description. I'd like to know if you can pinpoint a site that does this well, so I can mimic it or show it to our web guy for guidance.
