Maxi dress trend...
Permalink Closed

You girls still think this will be around next summer?  I'm really starting to feel it, and there are a few more I want but I alread have 3 in my wardrobe.  I'd hate to add more if it's going to fizzle out...

I feel its always going to stick around. It has for so many years already, it's like a staple to summer. Sandals = summer, shorts = summer, dresses and maxi dress = summer.

but thats just what i think

Even if the trend is over next yea, you can always have the dresses shortened to knee length and wear them.

I don't know if I'd spend too much on a new dress, but a relatively inexpensive one will be in style for another year or so, IMO. Also, if you aren't feeling it later, you could shorten them or wear as nightgowns.

If it suits your style, and is flattering, I don't see why you wouldn't want to keep wearing them.

Sounds good to me, I second that. I have quite a few maxi (or long) dresses in my closet, have on today! LOL

Good idea!

As a 5'3 3/4" woman I am not really into maxi dresses.......... but hey look nice on others.  I think it is a trend that will pass, just like those Juicy tube dresses (that I have 3 of).  I wouldn't buy more than 3.

I think it's flattering on taller girls, I am 5'3 and it's not for me. I love the same look with a shorter hemline though, and that will never go out.

I am also wondering how long this trend will last... I've already heard people mocking it and men griping about it, LOL.

I agree - but think it may stick around.  Mini skirts, however are dead

It feels trendy to me still, but I think it's because I live in a place in which people typically do not wear long dresses.  When I see a woman in Charlotte wearing one, I see it is a very conspicuous thing.  "Oh.  She's wearing a 'maxi dress'!"  They're pretty though.

While I think they are very trendy now, I've always worn maxi dresses during the summer and will continue to do so even when they lose popularity. It's nice the trend has finally caught up with me! I'm tall and I think they are really flattering and work well with my height.
