oh jeez, don't get me started... i have a new favorite every few months because i'm always trying something new. for the past few years i've been really into dark chocolate... the darker the better. my favorite right now is a 70% dark by/called santander. it's columbian and the particular one i love right now has coffee bits in it. as far as a plain dark, i love valrohna 70%
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures. Whole foods sells some really good lines of plain chocolate bars, but I can't remember the brand names. I'm a wicked snob when it comes to plain chocolate. Or I aspire to chocolate snobdem. Yeah, Dove rocks for a "plain" chocolate..how did I forget?
Fannie May Vanilla Buttercreams...I realize most of you don't even have a Fannie May since it's only in Chicago, but it is by far the best chocolate on earth!

I have Fannie May in Wisconsin...maybe it is a midwest thing. I love the Trinidads, but my all-time favorite is Dove milk chocolate. I work in a store that sells Godiva, and I think the Dove is just as good but a whole lot cheaper.
Frango Dark Mint Chocolate sold at Marshall Fields Department Store any tourist who comes to Chicago is told to get Frango Chocolate.

The best chocolate I ever had was in Belgium- OMG it was amazing. Unfortunately the stuff I brought back with me didn't last very long and American chocolate hasn't tasted the same since.
mmm, cadbury fruit & nut, like the bridget jones that i am. it's milk chocolate with chopped up raisins and pecans--so yummy. it's not all that easy to find around here because i guess it's not that popular outside the UK (but i have my sources!) but i just discovered that good old trader joe's in now making an organic knockoff and it tastes just as good. yummy!
Dagoba Organic Chocolate, hands down. There are many interesting varieties and you can get it at Whole Foods (and possibly other natural markets).
A girlfriend and I have chocolate tastings at work. The Dagoba is as complex as wine -- bouquet, body, mouthfeel, finish... all that! We are serious about chocolate; i mean, why eat a bunch of cheap waxy chocolate when all you need is a tiny square of something fabulous?
My current favorite is: Conacado Varietal Cocoa Bittersweet Chocolate - Fair-trade pure 73% dark chocolate from the farmer-owned Conacado Cooperative in the Dominican Republic

My BF is like that too...I think he gets Whitman's Samplers on V-Day so he can eat them himself.
Me, I'll eat any chocolate that says Godiva on it. Or Lindt. I also love my dark chocolate Toblerone and the Ferrero Rochers BF and I stock up on religiously at Costco.
