Is this too much - wedding outfit
Permalink Closed

I'm going to a wedding on Sunday, 4pm ceremony, evening reception.  I have a strapless navy dress from J Crew that I wanted to wear with a peacock feather headband I bought at UO.  I just saw a super cute pair of shoes they're a pinky red, suede peep-toe slingback with a rosette on the toe in the same pink suede with a light pink center.  I'm afraid that if I wear these all together it might be too much .  Although I'm not planning on wearing any jewelry.  My bag is a navy clutch.  What do you ladies think?  (I'm usually a pretty preppy dresser - think J Crew).

I couldn't get either image to open properly.

However, the headband and the shoes might be too much together, but seperatley, the outfit sounds great.

You're in NYC, right? Would this outfit be appropriate for a wedding there, i.e. would you not stand out too much in the group attending the wedding?

I think the rosette on the shoes and the peacock feather might be too much.

I agree with relrel separately, the outfit sounds great.

Do you have a picture or link to the shoes? I think in NYC more can fly, but maybe pair it with some nude heels instead?

Can't get the images either, but I like the dress/bag/shoes combo. Not sure about the headband, though.

You're saying you "just saw" as in, you haven't purchased yet? I say skip the shoes and go for something more neutral. The pink rosette peep toe sling back just sounds like a complication and you could go from looking cute and stylish to kooky.

Second.  I think one really interesting piece can make you look memorable.  Two can make you look like you are trying too hard.

it could be too much of a good thing. maybe pairing that great headband with a pair of electric blue shoes would tone it down yet keep it interesting. i love that dress :)
