I don't think its too overplayed. I've only seen one person with the bean and I go to a fairly preppy/rich kids school (lots of Tiffanys).

I don't think so...I've only ever known one girl who owned the bean. She was one of my roomies freshman year and she was a true fashionista with a great sense of style.

all of my best friends have this necklace in various different styles/sizes... (we are all tiffany's whores though) and i have never seen anyone else wear them.

i just asked for the same necklace you posted for my birthday b/c i have the chunky tag "return to T&Co" wayyyyyyy before it was popular and now i hate wearing it because everyone has a knockoff of it....

so- my vote is- get it!

I think the bean is lovely. I've had the peretti open heart for a few years and I wear it now layered with others so it's a little different. But I think most things from tiffany's are classic, and especially if you get the long chain the bean will be unique.
