So I'm moving to Boston...with an apartment but no job (:P) but I've been searching and came across a volunteer opportunity for me to network. It's called On Your feet Project and it targets 18-35 year olds to get involved in fundraising and volunteering through charity events and volunteer events. They already have three Chapters across the country and they are starting a new one in Boston and I contaced them. The Program Director already told me she can put me in contact with people from many different schools (MIT and Harvard) and non-profits in Boston, and she named me the PR Director! Yay! It's non-paid but only a few hours of commitment a week, a great resume builder and an awesome way for me to network for my job and just meet new people! I'm so excited!! :)

NYC, San Fransisco and Philly. They are also probably starting one in LA too :) the website is oyfp.org
lola...congratulations, that sounds like an excellent resume-builder. Too bad it is not paid, but sometimes you have to do that stuff to become the best candidate for a paying job.
lsubatgirl...just curious, what city are you moving to?
I am also moving to a new city and I'm scared I won't meet anybody. At least my BF is coming too, but he won't move until July :( I have to study for a national board examination also, but I don't want to spend all my free time doing that! Do you like animals? I was thinking I could volunteer at an animal shelter. I also want to join a book club (I am so nerdy!).

I'm headed to Houston. I've already tracked down my sorority alum group and asked for info on when they meet and stuff. I might look into an animal shelter if I have some time. I will be studying for hopefully the last 2 parts of the cpa exam when I first get over there then I'll be free from studying forever!!!
