My boyfriend's mother called him the other day to tell him how dissappointed she was for him getting a DUI (or DWI?) because the ticket had been mailed to his parent's house. Only thing is, he has never gotten a DUI, and he has never even lived at his parent's current address. After looking at the details of the ticket, his father saw that his birthday was listed wrong (only a day off) and his address was wrong. Because there were so many discrepancies--the address, the ticket being mailed to his parent's, the birthday, and the fact that he never even got a DUI ever--made me think it was just a huge clerical error. However, my BF had a bad feeling this was an old friend of his trying to get out of a drunk driving offense. Lo and behold, his father went down to the police station in the town where the ticket was issued and they happpened to have a picture of the guy they pulled over--my BF was right! It was his old friend. These guys were best friends but my BF ended it because the other guy constantly was screwing him over--now this is the ultimate screwover!
There are still many unanswered questions, mainly how could this ever happen in the first place, but I am just glad we got to the bottom of it. Oh yes, and now my BF has to take a day off work to go to this little town in a different county and settle this matter--just great!

He probably just said he didn't have his license or was driving without his. That is always usually added onto a DWI in my town.

Yes, that is what we are thinking he did. But w/o proper ID, wouldn't he have been carted off to jail (even if he had a sober person in the car to drive him home)? There are still lots of questions to be answered.
That's just sociopathic. Hope they can charge this guy with resisting arrest or something extra for the asshole move. People with this sense of entitlement never cease to amaze me. In a few years, this guy will probably be just like the bosses a few unfortunate souls are dealing with right now! (hugs Nylabelle and Karina - hope baby Giselle and you are both doing well).
I think you need to make sure this loser doesn't steal your bf's identity. I mean, if he can do this with his name, what else can he do? I don't want to scare you but you needa be cautious. Good luck.
