alright...briefcases this time...

just found out that although i thought my fiance's parents were giving him a briefcase for graduation, they've abandoned that because they "can't find any that aren't $1500" and have now decided that unless they can find less expensive options, they're giving him a watch.  well...i already got a watch to give him, and i bought it on overstock, and am just past the return period.  SO...i'm on a mission to find nice briefcases that are under $500.  so far i've only seen any at Coach.

where else to look??? (gotta be able to buy in a B&M store...the in-laws don't do the internet)

Tumi makes some nice ones in all price ranges.  You can find them at Dept. stores and in luggage shops.

in addition to dept. stores and tumi,  maybe try wilson's leather and  kenneth cole  or franklin covey (franklin covey appears to carry kenneth cole products. )

banana republic has a leather messenger bag and a nylon computer brief, but i'm not sure these are what you may have in mind.

(i'm assuming that since the stores carry the items online, they'll probably have similar items in store. i haven't actually seen any of them in store myself.)

Check out ebags.com for some briefcase options.  Not sure about the brands or quality, but they've got some affordable options.

Wilson's Leather has some really nice options as well as any department store like Dillards, Nordstroms, etc.  My mom just bought one and I think her's was around 300 so you should be able to find one at one of those places.  Good Luck!!

Jack Spade? I bought my bf a computer/messenger bag from here and he loves it. It's hard to find something stylish for something so boring! Kenneth Cole is great for classic bags. My ex-coworker had a KC briefcase and for the longest time I swore it was Smythson of Bond street or something uber expensive.

Check out http://www.shopspareparts.com or http://www.johnsonshop.com. They have great bags from non-big names in your price range.
