Do I e-mail interviewer?
Permalink Closed

I had an interview on April 14th, I thought it went great overall, the interviewer informed me that he had a few more interviews to do but he was pretty sure that I was going to make it to the next round for the sit in with employees. He was going to call the national recruiter and inform her of his decision when he made it and she was to tell me either way if I was to go on or not. I haven't gotten any kind of feedback yet and so I'm wondering do I e-mail him (the interviewer) or her..(the recruiter), or should I just wait it out??

TIA

Yes!!!  Just as long as it's worded as a 'checking on the status of my app/the position & letting you know I'm still interested' and not 'Excuse me?  Do I have the job or what?'.  My FH has been told on numerous occasions that the reason he got the job is because he was one of the only ones that followed up - some companies hold apps just to see who will follow up and who won't before deciding on a particular candidate.

You want to make it like a follow up thank you card.

Say something like:

"I want to thank you for the interview.  I know that I can bring you the value in an employee that you are looking for. I also want to follow up and find out a time frame I can expect to receive news on a second interview.... etc."

I am writing this off the cuff, but it should sound like that.

YES!!!  I just went through the interview process and definately follow up.  I thnk that is how I got offered so many jobs is because I always sent thank-you cards(make sure they include something you talked about to make it more personal) and always follow up with them in an email or phone call if I havent heard back and I want the job.  Good Luck!!
