i have a small apartment.  my vacuum just went kaput and it's time for a new one.  so my ? is, since i have a small all carpeted apt, with a little doggie, should i spend 500 on a vacuum?  is it that much of a treat?  or just get the normal everyday vacuum.

i dont know but all i know is i want one. i mean a vac is something that you have for at least 5 years min. so it's definitely an investment but at least you know you'll be using it for a long time. i wish they would make a dyson handheld.

yes, especially if you have thick carpet or a dog who sheds. I love mine. Still, if I had non-shedding dogs and cheap carpet, I wouldn't have shelled out the $$$.
