What to wear to a mid-afternoon summer wedding??
Permalink Closed

I haven't gotten the invite from the bride yet (they just got mailed today), but knowing her, I know the wedding is not going to be black tie or formal.  It will be held in a church, and at 3pm in July.

I have a basic idea of what to wear (florals or bright/jewel tones) and what not to wear (white, black, slutty, lol), but I'm lost as to specific styles, etc. to look for.  I'd really like to keep the cost of the dress to $50 or under, since I'll more than likely have to buy shoes too.

Any suggestions of either specific pieces or stores to look at? (Prefer online, since there's not much in my city).  The only fit thing I can think of is that stuff with defined bust seams doesn't usually work in my favor since I have a large chest (34DD).

Thanks ladies!!

I realize this is out of your price range but wanted to post it to give you an idea of what I'd wear.  It is BCBG and $160 at Nordstrom.  I have a 34DD chest and it looks really good on me with no weird boob issues (notice the dark purple seam is more towards the waist than the boob area).  I wear a small in their jersey knit stuff.

You ladies are fabulous! :) Thanks for all the ideas, and keep them coming, lol

That F21 dress, do you think black sandal wedges would look okay? I'm sure I have a cardi for over it too, at least during the church part of the wedding.

I'm assuming you have a good strapless bra?  Or do you need a dress that can accomodate bra straps?

Elle, I really need something that can accomodate bra straps, since strapless NEVER stay up on me!

I'm a 32DD and I know what you mean about strapless dresses.

The Limited $79.50 (a little over budget but maybe you can save on the shoes)

Bluefly (extra 15% off dresses right now)  If the wedding is casual like you think, jersey in a pretty color should be fine.
$51.00

$67.15
