Giving me space or not interested? *update*
Permalink Closed

So I have posted about this guy before see(so cofused )post. He is my best friend but Iwas hopeing we could be more. Then he started to show signs he was interested, but in the past few weeks he seems to have pulled away from me. sitting with a chair between us in class, then at the end of class runing out the door and just waving goodbye to me. For awhile he was hugging me all the time,he has not hugged me in a 1 week and a half. I don't know whether he lost intrest or is giving me some space right now, because he did not start this behavior untill the week after my grandma died. He was with me the night my mom called and said that my grandma was dying,I cried and cried and he just held me. For what had to be at least 8 minutes. Then the moring she died he came to see me as soon as he could and was very supportive and actually met my family and gave my mom hug. So my question is do you guys think he lost intrest or he just dosen't want too push me right now, because it has only been two weeks since My grandma died.

Honestly, it could be either.  He could be freaked out right now, or trying to give you space.  If this continues, just ask him if he wants to hang out sometime and if he's still weird, ask him what's up, and if he doesn't have a straight answer, just give HIM space.  He may not know what he wants right now.

I agree with Lynnie completely. I usually don't have the patience to wait around and see what's up and would just come out and ask him, but I think Lynnie's way of doing things is better. Just ask him to hang out sometime soon and see how it goes. If it's weird, ask him about it and then leave the ball in his court.

Keep us posted!

If I had to choose, it sounds more like not interested to me.

hmmm...gotta admit i'm w/ lorelai on this one.  i just feel like if he really liked you he wouldn't be running out of class like that, usually there's dawdling/idle chatting, etc. when a guy and girl like each other and they sit together in class.  someone running out or switching seats/putting space in between is not usually a good sign.  i also don't buy the giving you space theory because it doesn't sound like you ever gave off signs that you wanted space, you cried in his arms, introduced him to your family, etc.  imo, it sounds like he's a nice guy that really cares about you but doesn't want to give off the message that his feelings are anymore than platonic.  but this is all jmo and i really hope i'm wrong!

anyway, as for how to act around him, take your cue from him and whatever you do, don't admit your feelings yet.  hth and keep us updated!

Ok so this week he is totally acting normal. He talks with me before class and I found out He is running out right after class because he picked up a  8 week class, and that is where he is heading to. Also when we were talking Monday morning he told me that lately his parents have been arguing ( he lives with his parents),so he has been staying at our friends house. When I asked why didn't you tell me? He said I didn't want you to worry about me. So everything is back to normal, and he still doesn't know I like him.

While I was sitting here posting this he came up behind me (I am at school) and scared the crap out of me. I had to post real quick.I hope he didn't get to read it. I don't know how long he was standing behind me.Right Now He is in the bathroom .So I had better post now.

Oh, girl, you crack me up! Just think if he was reading it over your shoulder? Then he'd definitely know you liked him. You should figure out a way to get the two of y'all alone together sometime. Maybe he can stay with you instead of his friend? (hubba, hubba) Of course just as friends though, right???
