So my benefit is tomorrow and I have some amazing things for the silent auction. Does anyone know how you decide on what the minimum bid should be? say for a $1200 TV what would you start it at? Ahhh overwhelmed and confused!

Is this the type of bid where people write down their bid and put it in a basket/box on the table? I would just type up a little note to attach to the item or on the table that says "minimum bid $XXX". I've been to a couple different silent auctions and that's always how they've been done.

I just read somewhere online that you normally start the minimum bid at 20% of the retail value, so according to that rule the TV should start at $240.
