One of my best friends just got engaged!  We're all so super excited and 2 of us need to get her a trinket type of gift to memorialize the the engagement.  We need to get her something special because we can't fulfill a promise we made to each other.  See, when the first one of our threesome got engaged, we took her to asia de cuba (a restaurant in la) and decided to make it a tradition and come there every time one of us got engaged.  But now we can't go because one of the threesome has moved far away (connecticut) so instead we decided to get the bride to be a trinket from the two of us to her in lieu of the asia de cuba dinner.


here's the problem, the newly engaged couple as part of a cultural ceremony is having a HUGE engagement party in a few months where they will be getting engagement gifts and then at the wedding they will be getting wedding gifts so we have to come up w/ something to get that's just for the bride and that won't be related to the engagement or wedding gifts.  it's like we're trying to get the perfect gift before the engagement gift which is before the wedding gift. 


so what do you think y'all?  any ideas???

Have you checked out www.redenvelope.com?  They always seem to have lots of cute gifts for this type of situation.


When I got engaged, a good friend got me a beautiful crystal ring holder.  There are lots of them out there, but something like this:



Waterford makes a pricier one if you want something fancier. 


I guess this is related to their engagement, but it's a nice gift just for the bride and it's actually somewhat useful.
