Just found out that we're going to be stationed in Japan after here! I'm so excited! Hubby flies F16s in the Air Force and there are 2 flying squadrons up in northern Japan (reeeeal north), so we're heading up there in the fall most likely. We're excited! I'm a little nervous, but we've lived overseas before, so it's not as huge of a deal as our first move with a wee little baby was. Best thing is we get to leave where we are right now (which I am soooo sick of).
Whoa! That sounds super awesome!! I was just thinking about you guys the other day and wondered if he had taken the job at the Pentagon. I'm pretty sure that was you guys, right? This sounds much cooler though.
Wow, RTR. You have an awesome memory! That seems like so long ago that I almost forgot about that job. Nope, we've been in Montgomery, AL while he gets a Masters Degree at the Air University. It's been a very easy year for us. Especially since he was in Korea all of 2007, it's been nice to slow down.
Oh that is cool. A girl I went to college with is in Japan right now with her family. I forget where exactly but I think her husband is a Navy pilot (I think). She seems to be enjoying it based on her facebook photos.
Cool! I lived there for almost three years (Navy) and loved it. Some friends of mine were stationed at the base I think you're referring to, so let me know if you have any questions.
wow, i just saw this post - how exciting! will you be in or near tokyo?? okay i just realized that you are in montgomery and i have a good friend who is also living there AND her hubby is also with the air force (she hates it btw). i'll pm you her name, b/c i don't want to post it here. when do you leave? do you have apo and a commissary there? those are the first things i find out when considering where to bid (my hubby is state, not military, so the selection process is dif. i'm sure). in turkey we will have an apo box but no commisary - it's in another city which is abt a 3 hr drive, uggh.
How exciting! I love Japan. The people are so friendly and welcoming, and there are endless amounts of stores with cute little knickknacks and things you never knew you needed, but once you see them feel that you can't live without. Not to mention how beautiful it is there.
