Can my shoe be saved?

  The sole on the bottom of my shoe fell off somewhere over the weekend and I just noticed it Monday!!  I really like these shoes and it took 3 years to break them in properly.  I just hate to give up on them now!  I think I just need a new sole but there is a small wood chunk missing out the side now where that nail is.  Can that be replaced by a shoe repairman? Can my shoes be saved or do I need to start looking for a replacement pair?

I think they can probably be saved.
