hehe, "what the heck is it?", that made me chuckle... kashi is a brand of cereal like general mills or post.  they have several lines, like "go lean", "go lean crunch", "puffed", and much more.  they are very healthy (my "puffed" cereal has 70 cal in 1 cup w/ 0g sugar!!) for the most part & are mentioned by celebs quite a bit.  u can usually find them in any grocery store (they sell it at ralphs, vons, pavillions, albertsons - in LA anyways) but the variety isn't always that great.  i'm pretty sure they sell it at health food stores too.  give it a try, it's yummy!  (oh, & i'm not a cereal person & definitely don't like sugary "kids" cereals... to me kashi is perfect!)

I am just trying my first box and its pretty good. It took me a while to get use to it because its a lot of whole grains/things.  I got the crunch and I like it.  I wouldn't eat it every morning but I do rotate it with my other breakfast choices and eat it about 2xs a week.

I luuuuv kashi go lean crunch - I eat it for breakfast when I don't have time to make eggs.  I like that it's sweet, but not too sweet.

I also love Kashi Go Lean Crunch.  I eat it for lunch a lot and anytime I'm too lazy to make a decent dinner.

I love Kashi Good Friends!!! It's my favorite cereal (okay, Cap'n Crunch peanut butter is technically my favorite but I try to forget that exists). If I wasn't always running late for work, I'd eat it for breakfast everyday. I add a packet of splenda to it and some skim milk and man, that stuff is good! And super-filling.

They sell it at HEB and Randalls here in Austin.

I'm another fan of Go Lean Crunch. I like to stir it into a container of Light n Fit yogurt and let it sit for 20 min. The cereal gets a little mushy and blends with the yogurt to make something that's comparable to yogurt and granola but even yummier and more filling.

I also love Go lean crunch...I haven't tried any of the other Kashi brand cereals but I've tried some of their bars.  Sheilsbabe--you know what else is good in yogurt??  Whole foods brand granola....this stuff is sooo yummy.  It has cranberries, almonds, other stuff and it smells like cinnamon.

How does Go Lean Crunch compare to Kashi Medley? i have only had Kashi Medley bc it is a mix of all the cereals i like in "real" form...like honey nut cheerios, plus apple and other yummy goodness.

I could live on Lucky Charms...alas, Kashi does not include even one marshmallow....

Here's another vote for GoLean Crunch. I love that stuff. I haven't tried the other ones.
I mean to, and then I always go for the crunch!

I ate Heart to Heart for a while and it was pretty good. It made me forget that Honey Nut Cheerios existed. Unfortunately, I still have a sick sick addiction to cereals like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Spongebob cereal.

I will try the Go Lean crunch though...I was too afraid to before but if all y'all think it's good it's defintely worth a try!

I can't believe you guys like kashi! My mom bought the puffed kind once when I lived at home 4-5 years ago; It tasted like cardboard! Has it changed since then? Or am I just weird?

no you're not weird. there is a super gross kind made out of cardboard, but go lean crunch and medley taste like real cereal. I only eat things with flavor, I will not sacrifice for a diet. the gross kind definitely exists....tell your mom! funny bc my mother bought the gross kind too for my dad and he now refuses to try anyother kind, he's convinced they're all disgusting....but they're not!

Isubatgirl--I didn't know Whole foods carries strawberry and raspberry granola!  What section of the store did you find this in?  I found mine in the bakery section--isn't that weird?  Expensive stuff, it was a little over $7!!  But then again, most stuff in whole foods is expensive (I still love it though)!!

I wast just looking at the nutritional facts of the Go Lean Crunch, and it really doesn't sound that healthy...  I mean it's low fat yes, but quite high on calories, 190 per cup.

I must admit I'm not much of a calorie counter, but I did fitday.com for a few weeks & was eating this every day & most days my calories were under 1300 (and if not it was due to sneaking some candy, not because of my breakfast).  And for those just trying to maintain (i.e. 2000 calorie diet) that's only about 10% of their calories, and for something that filling seems worth it to me.  Especially since breakfast is a meal so u can have a couple hundred calories (i realize the 190 is not including milk, so maybe i'm a little off).

My whole foods has an aisle that has flour, nuts, trail mix, granola, etc in those containers like a candy store where you measure it out and put it in a baggie. Its $1.99 a pound which is cheaper than a box of cereal when you add it up.

As far as the NI of go lean crunch I'm not too worried about it since it is all natural things that I usually don't eat and while the calorie content is like a regular cereal the fat and fiber are much better and make it lower in Weight Watcher points for me to eat. (3 points including the point for milk vs. 4-5 points for the same serving size or less which makes a difference)

That's why I've never tried Go Lean Crunch actually. I might try it anyway, because it gets such good reviews but the Good Friends has 110 calories for 2/3 cup, 1.5 grams of fat, 6 grams of sugar, and 7.5(!!!) grams of fiber. Seriously it can't be beat in the cereal department. Super yummy (with a little splenda) and incredibly filling. It's my favorite (with the exception of the afore-mentioned cap'n crunch, which doesn't exist).
