And I'm pretty impressed with how it turned out.  Except that I have a very noticable streak down the inside of each thigh (must of been the way I was standing) and I would use more barrier cream on my fingernails but I know know better for next time. I don't think I'd do it constantly but it would be good for an occasion where you're showing some skin and don't want to look like a ghost. I was impressed with how natural it looks and not orange like the self tanners I've used in the past.

Great... thanks for the heads up...  I wanted to try Mystic Tan for my sister's wedding, but ended up chickening out :)

I love Mystic too! If I could, I would buy my own machine. My new favorite, however, is actually being airbrushed by a technician. Where I live, it's about the same cost as the Mystic and I acutally like the color better and I think it lasts longer. You just have to get over the fact you look ridiculous standing in front of stranger while topless, wearing skimpy underwear, and a shower cap.

i love mystic!  but i actually like it BETTER than being sprayed by a professional.  I find that the professionals dye is TOO dark and i end up looking like i spent 2 weeks baking in the sun.  i would rather just have a light bronzing that looked like i spent a couple of days in the sun.  but that is JMO

I love mystic tan, too. I'm about to start getting it on a regular basis soon - before I go to Vegas. I used to do it last summer all the time. The first few times I noticed a few f**k ups but you iron out all the wrinkles after a couple of times there. Now they have monthly subscription rates (all the mystics you can spray on for $40 a month or something), so I'm going to go about twice a week but when they were a little pricier, I used to go once a week or once ever two weeks and keep up with a self-tanner in between. It's a pretty good system.

quick question about mystic- this is going to sound really strange... my roommate used to go and she complained of "smelling like a dorito" for a few days aferwards.  is this true or is she smoking the crack???

I don't know what "smelling like a dorito" is about but immediately afterwards there is a slight smell but it goes away pretty quickly, imo. It's not any kind of deterrent for me, and I'm a pretty big smell person.

I don't think there's crack involved. I smelled horribly for about a week. Like burnt toast. It was nauseating. Maybe it depends on body chemistry or something. The color was really great, but I don't think I'll do it again because of the smell. I'm looking forward to trying those TanTowels someone posted about.
