home-made facial recipes?
Permalink Closed

Do any of you have any home-made facial recipes you use?  I need to give myself a facial today, and would like to try something different.  I need some exfoliation, and heard pineapple juice (or is it grapefruit?) is a really good exfoliant, as is milk.  Maybe a honey/milk/pineapple juice mask?

Any recommendations?  scrubs tend to irritate my skin, but I'd do oatmeal if it doesn't involve scrubbing...

I used to make honey/salt or sugar/lemon juice scrub

salt is harsher than sugar, so if you have sensitive skin sugar is better
same for the lemon: you can omit it if your skin is sensitive.

Also: crushed aspirin and some water: it is exfoliating. you have to live in on your face for a while.

I seem to remember that papaya too has exfoliating properties, but I am not sure you have one available (plus, it's expensive)

You can use plain yogurt with oatmeal.  I know you are trying to be Vegan so that might not be helpful.  Perhaps you have some leftovers?
I found this thread...

As for myself, I use honey mixed with a smidgeon of olive oil.  I have a friend that does the same thing but adds an egg yolk.

Have fun pampering yourself!
