I got an interview - YES!!!

Okay ladies, I got an interview with an amazing company.  The girl said that when the guy read my resume he wanted me to come in for an interview right away, like today.  Of course that couldn't happen so I am doing a phone interview on Friday.  I think if I were to get this job that the sky is the limit as far as professional development goes - which is great.  Okay, do you hear the "but"coming?

It is a contract position.  They plan on doing a one or two month contract and then deciding on full time status.  I really believe that if they had me working there they would want to bring me on full time.  I have never gone on an interview that I haven't gotten and every job that I have ever had they have said that my work is beyond reproach.  I know that tons of people do this, but I am just nervous about quitting a full time job and then possibly not having one when it is all said and done.  BTW, it pays $25K more than I make now.  Thoughts?  Opinions?  Advice?

Congrats on your interview! May I ask what type of job you will be doing? Have you applied to other companies for a similar position? If its an area you really want to get into, I would take the job, and keep looking on the side just in case. If this company was impressed by your resume others will be too.

Congratulations Farrah! That's a really big accomplishment. My advice is, first ask if they are not going to hire you after the initial trial period how much notice will they give you. They may give you enough time to find another position while you are still working there.

I would go for it, 25K more is alot of money. Just save alot while you are there in case they do not hire you on full time so you have something to live on while you are looking for another position.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Go for it! I know its very scary but if you dont give it a shot you'll always be wondering "What IF".

My husband years ago left a full time shop, okay pay, great benefits to go into something with no benefits at first, and no secure thing in anything.
I was behind him 100%, I knew he could do it, and now we have it so much better with income and all.
If he wouldn't have taken that risk we would be where we were at before
He was scared too! Shoot, I was too!
