My favorite white wine is the La Crema Chardonnay from Sonoma, CA.

Red, I'm less particular about.  My favorite type is Cabernet Sauvingon.  I mostly drink local California wines, which vary in price and taste, but I'm almost always happy with Cab.

I've also had some nice, cheap Australian reds lately.

What are your favorites?

For a good cheap red wine I really like Fat Bastard Syrah and for white my favorite is Santa Margargarheta ( I can't spell) Pinot Grigio

i love pinot noir.  that's what i drink most of the time.

chardonnay:

cakebread

flowers (the all time best)

logan (cheaper alternative to flowers)

pinot noir:

keegan and a couple others that i haven't tried yet

there is also one called tremonte it's at costplus (world market) right now that's usually a $30 + bottle of wine, but right now it's $13.99.  so my bf and i have been buying a lot of them.  it's a good wine when there's no special occasion.

My favorite white is Riesling. My dad and friends make fun of my because it can be pretty fruity, but I still like it and it's no where near as lame as white zin. My favorite brand is Schmitt & Sohne. I also like Chateau St. Michelle and Relax.

I know it's pretty common, but Kendall Jackson makes a good Chardonnay.

For red wines, I always give people Cline wine. I'm not a big red wine fan but people seem to like the Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfindel. It's also pretty affordable.

I've been on a Chilean red kick lately, and I am really liking Casillero del Diablo, the Merlot and Cab.  They are about $8 a bottle, and you can get them at Cost Plus, usually.   Very tasty!

ETA that I also had the Pepperwood Grove Cab this past weekend at a party.  I had a glass and then I absconded with the bottle, so I could finish it off during the rest of the party.

I love pretty much anything by Penfolds- their cabernet-shiraz blend is to die for! I'm not usually a big fan of reds, but I love that one.

Have you tried Bonny Dune vineyard?? They have excellent wines! And they have a wine club too, they send you two bottles per month to try out. Great if you are experimenting.

I like the following:

Foppiano 2002 Petite Sirah Bacigalupi Vineyard--good red, fruit, pepper undertones

Howard Park 2001 Shiraz

Hewitson 2003 Miss Harry Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre

Mak 2002 Shiraz

Mantanzas Creek 2001 Syrah

As you can see I like Shiraz and Syrah.  Probably because I find Australian wines to be what I like best and they are well known for quality Shiraz/Syrah.

I prefer reds...I'm a huge Shiraz/Syrah fan and Pinot Noir and Burgundys..I used to like Merlots, but I go through phases...

Redknot, Red truck, Yellow Tail, Jacob's Creek and Ravenswood LODI to name a few inexpensive ones (most years are consistantly good)..it's sad I know them mostly by the look of the label, but ask me to name them off the top of my head, I can't. Those I mentioned, I currently have bottles of. I tend to choose based on grape and labeling (I'm a sucker for unique labeling/bottles) and try to stay under $15 (unless I know it's good).

MY favorite white is Evolution, it's so hard to find (at least in NJ/PA), but it's a great crisp white. Recently I'm liking white burgundys...but have only had a few.

I also love Spanish wines, ever since I visited Spain..but alas most of the imports suck. But I like Faustino I and Monticello (the dark blue bottle). Again with the labels...

i like lots of different wines, but just wanted to recommend one that i have bought a few times lately and it was very good: merryvale cabernet sauvignon.  i think it's the 2001 that they have at cost plus now, it's around like $21-$23.

I drink mostly white and right now I'm loving Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc.  It's a New Zealand wine that isn't too dry and has a nice refreshing, slightly fruity taste.  I think it's about $12-15.

I like wine, usually red, but I don't know anything about it. I've been enjoying Cavet Pinot Noir is good and ~$10 recently, and I really like Louis Jadot Beaujolais, that's been my old standby since Georges DeBouef's is getting pricier and pricier every year.

I love a Portugese Dao. Its a great, flavorful red that isn't too tart or acidic. It isn't really common but a good wine store should have it. Spainish reds (especially from the Andalucia region) are good too.

I also like Pinot Grigio. Santa Margherita is great.
