best oil for moisturizing the face?
Permalink Closed

Hi,
My acupuncturist said that my skin was breaking out because i'm too harsh on it and to just use a simple oil to moisturize a few times a week at night.  I figured that I might as well give it a shot.  What kind of oils are good for face?  Vitamin E, coconut, olive oil?  I have no idea.  Thanks!

I've heard of olive oil being good, although I've never tried it personally

Jojoba oil is great and non-comedogenic. I get mine from acne.org for a good price.

I tried to look up which oils are comedogenic (pore-clogging) and it appears as though olive oil and coconut oil are pretty bad, but jojoba is ok:

I know a lot of ladies on here use Vitamin E, but I recently read in some magazine that it's bad for your skin. Some dermatologist was quoted as saying it makes people break out terribly.

Not exactly an oil, but I like the tub of Palmer's shea butter.

I've actually had really great success with coconut oil. From what I understand, something in it actually kills the bacteria that causes acne, or something of the sort... smile
