undereye circles

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for what to use to diminish undereye circles.  I naturally have dark circles but they have gotten worse with allergies. I don't like to wear makeup, so I really would like a cream or serum rather than concealer.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I was going to suggest to find a nice concealer, but then I read you are not talking make up here...
what I'd suggest is: use something cold on your eyes in the morning, such as used tea bags, a spoon you kept in the freezer, ot one of these masks filled with blue liquid that you keep in the fridge and leave on your eyes for some minutes. I got mine from a lingerie store in Toronto, but I'd guess you can buy one in any pharmacy, or at Sephora.
Also, I really like this (sorry for the huge pic). It's anti-wrinkle, but I find it useful for puffiness/dark circles too. Just keep it in the fringe.

May be you can also try sleeping with more than one pillow to help fluids circulate...
And last, please remember that dark circles can be sexy!!!

If anyone has other suggestions, I'd be very interested too! smile

ico- you said " that dark circles can be sexy"

I have them, and I've never heard anyone say this before. So please explain to me so hopefully this will help me look at myself without so much disgust in the mornings when I have no concealer on. hehe!

I don't know why, but I completely stopped wearing concealer around 30 or so. I always obsessed about having dark circles but one day I just thought "eff it." Now they totally don't bother me. I think it was probably a general process of becoming more accepting of myself and all my numerous insignificant flaws...my point is, I think this is one of those things that we always think is horrific that most people are just oblivious to.

anna_magnani.jpg

well, she's a nice example.
She is Anna MAgnani, one of the best italian actresses (she's now dead). She was generally considered a very sexy woman, although she is not classically beautiful. And she was famous for her dark circled eyes, wich she didn't care to hide.
I thik they give you some kind of "I didn't sleep because I was busy doing more interesting things (wink)" kind of look.

Of course, this is my opinion, but I really don't mind dark circles: puffiness is much worse in my book!

Dark circles can be very sexy....but natural dark circles, not the crazy, puffy ones that you would get from studying/partying every night with no sleep and no water.

I've got natural dark circles and was always compared to Fiona Apple throughout college. And also, my boyfriend says that my dark circles was one of the things that actually attracted him to me in the first place. I have pretty large eyes and with the dark circles, he says I look like an owl. And apparently, for him that was sexy.

I say, as long as you're getting enough sleep and drinking enough water so that your eyes aren't puffy or bloodshot, just rock the dark circle. Every woman I've ever seen with dark circles, I think they look very mysterious! The Italian actress that Ico posted is a great example.

Wow, I had never thought of my dark circles in that way. I think I just look awful. Maybe I have to rethink things wink.gif

yeah, I think concealer caking in your undereye area and making you look like you have wrinkles you don't even have can often look a lot worse than undereye circles. I've given it up.
