Good jeans for a big booty?
Permalink Closed

I need new jeans. And I've finally accepted the fact that I have some junk in my trunk. I know I've heard of some brands made specifically for big butts, but I can't remember the name of them at the moment! Any ideas/suggestions? I'm tired of having jeans that fit my butt only to have them sag all over my thighs

ETA: I'm not wanting to neccessarily hide it or suck it in, I just want something that fits my booty and my thighs without straining on one part or sagging on another :)

I don't know how much junk you are talking about, but I've found Joe's jeans to fit very well and have several different styles of those. I have a few other labels too (Levi's, J brand), but that would be a good brand to check out.

There's a brand called Little in the Middle, but I haven't tried them.

I have the best luck with BR, pretty good luck at ATL, very occasional luck at Gap.  I used to LOVE Lucky brand jeans and they do still have a few mid-rise styles that I think are nice.  Some styles come in short/med/long lengths too.  Those are probably better for more casual wear though, since their washes tend to be lighter.  Some styles at The Limited work for me, too.

The appearance of trouser-style jeans on the scene have opened up more options for me brand wise, but I still find most high-end brands unaccomodating of the booty, with an exception for some styles of Joe's and SFAMK.

I second the Joe's, in particular the Honey Booty Fit.

Freedom of Choic also works well, and I've had good success with COH.

Not sure if you're looking for less expensive jeans but I have the same issue and now my go to jeans brand is Levi's 515 boot cuts. I love them and they fit perfectly!

COH and AG's have worked well for me. I also think trouser jeans work pretty well (if you like that style)

COH Kelly Jeans are awesome. I have a butt, too (thankfully), and these fit the very best out of all of the ones I tried (a couple hundred probably). Joe's have been awesome, as well.

Thank you, everyone!! Now it's time to go shopping to track these down and have a marathon trying-on day.

Citizens of Humanity
Sevens
Lucky Jeans in Sweet N Low

Joe's Jeans has a "Booty" jean but whenever I've tried it, the pockets are very small and centrally placed - I found they made my butt look bigger!

Depends on how much junk in the trunk. i would say i have got more booty than your avg asian girl.

Joe's fit really well to accommodate that area, but they are more generous in the thighs as well.
Apple Bottoms were made specifically for what we're discussing.
I also think James Jeans are great for the butt, but still nice and fitted in the thighs.

That's what I thought, but when I went to their website I couldn't see any mention of them being for bigger butts. Granted, I only spent a minute or two on their before I gave up

I find Apple Bottoms to be kinda tacky! They usually have apples embroidered on the butt.
These are kinda cute but...

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the apple. I don't think it looks good, plus it's kind of advertising "I have a badonkadonk!" I was actually just talking about this with my boyfriend when we ate lunch together today. I said that I was having a problem finding jeans that fit well, and he suggested Apple Bottoms. I said I didn't know if I liked the apple, and he kept telling me I was crazy for caring about it. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's not a fan!

Some of their styles don't have it:

But, sadly, it looks like all the bootcut and straight-leg ones do :(

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I should've gone shopping this weekend...instead I just keep wearing the same pair of jeans over and over. Blech.

The $64K question is, "How big?"

I wear a size 16 in pants and my butt is big enough to have its own U.N. representative. Most of the premium brands are too small or are so low-rise, my butt falls over the waistband. (I have a small waist, big booty.) Here's what worked best for me:

Juicy Couture wideleg
Paige Premium Denim plus size (waistband is higher in the back) and Paige Premium Denim Melrose--be sure you get a midrise if you buy from Paige's regular line
Svoboda--primarily a plus line, but they also make smaller sizes
Victoria's Secret--don't laugh...
Lucky Brand--avoid the Lil' Maggie...it runs about two sizes too small and it won't cover up the booty
The Gap

Another word of advice is to buy jeans that fit for your butt and simply have inches taken in on the waist line.. its very simple for a tailor to do and probably cheap. I used to do my own and it wasnt hard either.
