I have a family members anniversary coming up in January, and I want to get them something special because it was kinda a rough year for them. I am broke, but was thinking of making them something - is a scrapbook a cheesy gift?
great idea...my sisters and i did this for my parents for x-mas a few years ago and they loved it. they showed it to EVERYONE.

I also think it is an awesome idea. My BF's sister made us an awesome scrapbook of Vinny for XMas last year and it was one of my favorite gifts. Go for it!!

Have you checked out the books you can make on snapfish.com or blurb.com? They are about $25-35, depending on size, and you just upload photos and text.
My friend made me one and even took pics of papers she liked to use as background instead of plain black or white.
The quality is INSANE, and they are like coffee table books. I am going to steal her idea and make some for my family this year!
I second jj's idea for the photo books. I had one made through Shutterfly and the quality is terrific. If you have an account with them or sign up for one, you will sometimes even get free coupons for them. They have really quick shipping also.
I did a photo album using a website (can't remember which now) as a wedding gift to my family and they LOVED it. I think most people would appreciate such a personalized gift, I know I would!
