Maternity pants are a pain!
Permalink Closed

Ok so I normally wear a size 2, and I have no hips/butt.  I'm noticing that it's hard to find pants that extend in front for the belly (I'm 20 weeks now), but keep the butt small.

Does anyone have any suggestions on drawstring pants or loose ones, that are not necessarily maternity?  Or even dresses that would work for fall? I'm sick of recycling the same 4 pairs of pants every week.

Thanks!

Macy's sells these Jolt brand pants in the juniors section that are pretty popular for use as maternity pants!  They have a comfy stretch waistband, I have them in the denim version.  They also come in black and I think brown and fit cute in the rear.

ETA the pants!:

Also corduroy ones from Nordstrom:

Ummm! Whoa! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! I'm too floored by the news to be of any help wink.gif

Ok, I recovered. I think I had pretty ok success with Gap maternity but (haha, no pun intended) I think I had the same problem with pretty much all the brands I tried. I agree with Cortney, pants that aren't really maternity pants are going to be your best bet. Or wear your pre-preggo pants with a bella band. I think Target sells the bella band (or a version of it) now. HTH! And congrats again!

LOL thanks guys!!

FP I know I haven't been around in a bit, I'm sorry!  But as FP knows I had a few miscarriages so this is kind of big news for me!  I really waited it out before I told anyone, and time has been flying!!

I love my Bella band but it is even starting to not help :)!  Thanks for your suggestions!

I feel your pain. My problem with maternity pants and jeans is that they are all either too small and uncomfortable or too big and don't stay up. The only maternity pants that are decent are Old Navy maternity yoga pants... which really aren't that appropriate for most occasions.

Wow! Congrats tina242!

I'm not really much help, but my co-worker is also about 22 weeks along and like a sz 0 normal. She's still wearing her normal jeans with a rubber band looped around the button. Does that make sense? She loops one side over the button, pulls it thru the button hole, and re-loops the other end over the button.

Also most of the preggers girls and there are like 4 are the moment, just wear all the flowy dresses and long tops from F21. hth

I also like the cords from Nordies.
