Diptyque candle question
Permalink Closed

So I just bought a Diptyque candle online. The problem is, the wick barely sticks up above the wax and when I tried to light it, the flame went out immediately. It looks like they didn't do a good job pouring the wax because there is a noticeable lump in the center, around the wick.

Do you think a candle warmer would work, to melt the wax down a bit and expose the wick so that eventually I would be able to light it? Or should I dig out some of the wax around the wick, making it stick out further?

I'll call the company where I bought it tomorrow, but if they're going to make me pay return shipping to exchange it, I'd rather not. I think it would be expensive since the candle is so heavy.

Thanks!

I'd just dig out some wax and see if that works.  What fragrance did you buy?

Thanks lynnie! I got the Baies in the black container. Smells so nice! Are there any other fragrances you like?

let's see- I have baies, john galliano, and feu de bois right now.  I burn feu de bois the most just because it's so homey and perfect for fall/winter.  i love the john galliano in theory but it isn't as strong as i'd like.
One of my favorite candles is the APC toumbac.  i like sort of masculine smokey scents I guess.  I also love rose though, and loved diptyque's roses candle but know I could find something similar much cheaper!
