So I've decided to try eating cottage cheese both for it's dairy content and it's low-fatness/general healthiness. Sadly, I've found that I don't really like cottage cheese all that much. What can you eat with it (fruit, veggies, etc??) to make it taste better? For example, today I ate it with a whole wheat pita, hummus and cucumbers. It was okay, but I feel like it could be better. TIA!

why are you forcing yourself cottage cheese if you do'nt like it? i mean it's not something like going from whole to skim milk... where you will get used to the flavor after a while. some people are repulsed by the texture of cottage cheese. so i say if you're not a fan now, i don't know why you want to turn yourself into one.
there are plenty of other ways to get calcium in a low fat way. what about yogurt? or low fat/reduced fat cheese? i like laughing cow light soft cheese (they are tiny little cubes). and you really just need three servings of milk/milk product a day.
The old standby for cottage cheese--Roma tomatoes and tuna--it sounds disgusting, but it is yummy, healthy and I eat it for lunch at least once a week!

I'm not at all repulsed by the texture of cottage cheese. It's more the taste that is a little off putting to me - that's why I think adding fruits and veggies would help. I do eat yogurt and laughing cow cheese, among other things, but I'm looking for other ways to incorporate more low fat dairy options into my diet. Thanks to everyone else for the ideas - I'm excited to try them out!!

I like to dump a mound of it on a bed of lettuce or use it as a dip with ritz crackers. Yeah, and jah's suggestion of the roma tomato combo- it absolutely rocks!!! You could also mix it with pasta and tomatoe sauce (spinach too?) as a sort of lazy lasagna.
I love the lazy lasagna idea!! Go for a light version, the totally fat free version is gross, and this is from a person who likes cottage cheese. Trying mixing it with fat free sour cream, fresh chopped parsley, maybe a little garlic, and use it as a spread on crackers. This is usually best with the pressed cottage cheese( I think that is what it is called.)
