eyebrows - please help!
Permalink Closed

I really need advice! I totally hate my eyebrows - they are waaay too far from my eyes and they don't grow in very much - they just suck. But anyway, lately it seems like they are really uneven, too. I had my aesthetician try to even them out, but to get them truly even, I would have to let her make them even thinner over a period of several months, which terrifies me because I am totally obsessive because I already don't like them. Would you live with them kind've uneven, or have them fixed?

I'm actually going to post a pic of myself, too, because it is a great example, even though I'm not sure how I feel about my pic plastered up here.  Sorry about the black spot on my lip - not sure what happened.

Hello huge! Sorry...

Lisa - I can relate.  I had a bad wax job ~8 months ago and I have since recovered from looking like a surpirsed 80 year old woman (seriously overplucked brows).  Here is what I did:

I bought this from Sephora:  http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P42174

It helps to stimulate hair growth.  And to be perfectly honest, it worked for me.  Then I threw away my tweezers.  After 3 weeks of growth, you can do to a waxer.  That should be enough growth to try to shape them more.  My waxer was able to shape my brows after 3 weeks, and they looked much much better.

In the meantime, you will have to use an eyebrow pencil.  I like this one from Lancome:

http://www.lancome-usa.com/_us/_en/catalog/productMakeup.aspx?prdcode=794184&categorycode=AXEMakeup^F1_Eyes^F2_Eye_Brows^F3_Eye_Bro_BrowMakeup&vname=name&

It has a little brush on the other end, so your eyebrows don't look so "polished".  It is 8 months later, and I love my eyebrows ( I get compliments on them all the time - and I swore I would never stop waxing them....and i have been waxing them religiously every 3 weeks) I HTH!!!

Aren't you so cute!  Anyway, I have a similar eye/brow distance - overplucking is our worst enemy!  This is probably the very last thing you were wanting to hear, but the only solution is to let them grow in.  It looks like the thickness is good, so keep up your arches and just let the inner and outer corners grown in.  I overplucked the outside edges of my brows once . . .  YIKES!  One side still isn't completely re-grown yet, but I even them out a bit with a brown pencil and you can hardly even tell.  Hang in there, it'll be worth it in the end!

i agree, letting them grow out is the only way.  castor oil also stimulates growth, my eyebrow lady swears by it.  hth!

I had the same problem with my brows being far apart after two years of bad wax jobs (never get your brows done in a cosmetology school...I didn't realize what I was doing until I saw pictures of myself). My only advice is patience and an eyebrow pencil. It took me nearly 6 months to get my brows to a decent state. Good luck!

You look like such a fun girl, Lisa.  I know how over plucked brows can be; good luck to you in getting them to turn out the way you envision.  I agree that you must stop plucking.  My eyebrow girl says it takes 3 months to truly grow out brows, but you can have them waxed after 4 weeks of initial growth - you really are trying to get them as bushy as possible.  Try visiting a new girl for your eyebrows; you know, just to get a new perspective.  Definately look around for reccommendations.  I found my girl in a local fashion magazine.  HTH too.
