need some layering suggestions

I have an ecru short sleeve sweater that is kind of sheer that I plan to wear with a red skirt.  I am thinking about layering a long cami underneath it and letting it peek out the bottom. Do you think I need to go with the same color as the sweater or a different color? Also, could you give me some suggestions of camis?  Thank you.

I think you should go with a different color, like purple or aqua.  Here are a few options.

i agree with nylabelle. if you're looking to stay on the conservative side white would look good, since the contrast would be subtle, a light pink would be cute too. i have the second cami she posted (crinkly knit, lace top) and the only thing i would add is that they are slightly difficult to work with since the straps are thin (hard to pair with a non strapless bra) and the top lace is slightly revealing.

I love the idea of aqua, as long as the sweater's not so sheer it'll show through. I hate that sort of mottled-color look you get from that.

Just so you know, the ArdenB tops that have lace and are slightly wrinkled looked exactly like the camisoles being sold at Target right now.
