Do you have a copy of iTunes? (http://www.apple.com/itunes) Whenever I want some music I hit one of their Radio Stations linked on the left side. They have everything including some great 80's stuff.

Gotta get iTunes...

iTunes > radio > public > KEXP 90.3 FM Seattle - where the music matters
real-time playlist: http://www.kexp.org/playlist/playlist.asp

A friend recommended this one today:

iTunes > radio > eclectic > Radio Paradise
playlist: http://www.radioparadise.com/modules.php?name=Playlist

I knew you would chime in, Maddie!
Listener powered radio in Seattle is a beautiful thing. KEXP has listeners from around the world, and has an especially large audience in NYC and other cities with healthy indie music communities (they even promote live music local to those listeners).

(edited for typo: it's very early here!)

I'm so excited that it's on iTunes, I never even looked. I missed them, I feel like I'm not learning new music.
