So he and I have talked and we're going right to filing for a divorce. The support you girls have given to me has been amazing and I've had to stop reading your posts numerous times because I get so overwhelmed. Knowing so many of you are here for me really does help. I feel the strength being sent my way.

So I contacted and met with a lawyer yesterday who I loved and hired on the spot. Domino13 I took your advice and made sure that I was going to be ok financially. I won't get into the details but with the pre-nup he was very very generous. I have a feeling he's forgotten a lot of that so I may have a fight ahead of me but I have a great lawyer. But if things work out well I'm going to be ok for a very long time.

Now it's just working on my emotional state. it is not normal to cry at old Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes. lol

I am glad you found a good lawyer and are looking out for yourself. It gives you less to worry about and more soild time to focus on you. We're all here for you. I'll be thinking of you.

It is amazing how you can glean strength from your friends on the net, isn't it? I liken it to the power of prayer (and I am not religious at all) but I do think there is an energy we all share, and positive thoughts/strength can be projected through that (there are studies that support this theory!)

ANYWAY, I'm happy you're on the road to being happy.  I wish I could come fly out to Chicago to give you a hug and be there for you.  Stay strong, and know you're in my thoughts.

I wish I had advice for you.  But I am so lost.  I am a few months to weeks away from where you are, my marriage is on borrowed time.  I am simply waiting on my former boss to refer me to an attorney because I am so lost on where to turn and I don't have time to waste.  I wish you all the strength in the world!  I might ask you for advice too.
