So Oprah made it into a movie w/Halle Berry. It's one of my all time favorite books -- do you think it'll be any good?

I haven't seen any of her other movies, what were they like? I hope it's good, I also love this book.

I LOVE this book..


but I'm not sure about Halley Berry playing the main character..


and Oprah producing and directing it. She can't seem to get out of that color purple thing...


The line "Youse tollld Harpo to beat me" could easily fit into every movie she has ever done..it's annoying and tired.

Isn't the main character supposed to be older than Halle Berry? I read this a few years ago but isn't that kind of a central point to the story?

Oprah AND Halle Berry. I feel iffy about that. I also think Halle Berry sucks (in that I don't think she can act very well, and I also think she's kind of a dimwit in real life) so I feel even iffier. I highly, highly doubt I would see this movie.


Is this the movie that's filming right now? Have I seen pictures of mud-covered Halle holding a baby pig in the tabloids?

The movie is supposed to air on ABC on Sunday, March 6.


I was disappointed in the previews. They made it look like a romance and made Janie (Halle Berry) seem vixen-ish, which is not true to the book at all


I am sure I'll watch, though.


 


ETA: Maddie -the book follows Janie through much of her adult life...if I remember, the character is younger than Halle when the book starts, and older than her when it ends.
