So this girl at work is having a "wedding shower" after work tomorrow TWO MONTHS after she has been married. Two weeks ago there were probably 30 or so full size paper invitations/notices strewn around all over the breakroom.
On the invitations says the theme is "kitchen" and specifies her kitchen colors and that she needs EVERYTHING for the kitchen including: pots, pans, dinnerware, flatware, utensils, towels, etc. Tells us all to come straight after work to the (very dull) mall community room and that the mall doors would remain open until 9pm ( the mall closes at 6pm Sundays). No mention of refreshments or a fun time!
Isn't this something you do with friends and family? Besides that, this girl has been with that guy for like 4 years or so, has a kid, and owns a house. So obviously over this time they have accumulated kitchen wares.
Anywho...I don't understand why she would do this with co-workers since everybody I talked to says this girl is mean to them (she's quite stuck up) and they aren't going! All I can think of that this is a ploy to get cash or fancy new things from people she doesn't even know. Maybe I'm a brat but I think the only time something like this is acceptable is if your house burned down, flooded, or your house was robbed top to bottom.
Supposedly this co-worker is throwing it for her. I've never seen the two of them talk! Nobody else even thinks they are friends! Weird. It is also said it's being thrown late because that lady throwing it for her was out of town. But that was only for a week and this is months later! The whole thing is bizarre to me.
So the day of I see one of my co-workers who said she couldn't afford to buy anything with a big thing of balloons parading them around the store. Then in comes the woman who throwing this party with a Sears shopping cart full of crap, stuff toppling over making a huge scene. I don't know why they didn't use the mall doors corner of us since the place is right there. I guess they wanted to wheel that crap through the store so to remind employees a party was going on after work.
Besides those two women, I don't know of anyone who went. It wasn't talked about so I guess nobody went! And to confirm that fact, Sunday was the company picnic and neither the three people went. Probably because they were upset nobody showed up. Just goes to show how they were in it for gifts and cash if they didn't even want to join their co-workers at the picnic!
