anyone ever done these before? You are supposed to do these in between sets during your ab routine...I think i'm gonna try it and get back to all y'all in a month to see if it really works ;) An experiment if you will.

Stomach Vacuums: Finally, and most important, perform stomach vacuums during your active rest period. The stomach vacuum (as performed by Arnold and Frank Zane) is one of the best exercises you can perform to shrink your waistline in a very short period of time. I can generally knock several inches off my waistline just by performing vacuums for a three-week period. Although the vacuum takes some practice to master, it’s extremely effective in helping you gain control over your abdominals and giving your waistline a paper-thin appearance.

Perform a vacuum by exhaling all the air in your lungs, sticking your chest out, and trying to touch your belly button to your backbone (don’t worry, you will never accomplish this). Hold for 10 to 20 seconds, relax, and repeat. The simplest way to perform vacuums when starting out is from a kneeling position on all fours. As you begin to master the vacuum in this position, you can also perform it in an upright kneeling, seated, or standing position. Like anything else, the more you practice the easier it becomes and the more control you will have over flexing your abdominals. Eventually, you will be able to do these anywhere, from driving in your car to standing in line at the grocery store.

ok, this doesn't sound that hard... am i missing something?  i just tried it seated at my desk w/o any problems (i'm just confused because the article made it sound like it was so complicated... maybe it's harder when u r doing it as part of a workout?).  just one question tho, do u hold ur breath after u exhale it all (for the 10 or 20 seconds) or do u breath in at some point... well, obviously at some point, but i think u know what i'm asking!  can't wait to hear about ur results lola!

lol, I know it doesn't really sound that hard, and they make it seem like you have to be advanced in order to do them standing or sitting...I think i am going to do them on the way home from work 5 days a week and continue to do my 3 reps of my abs circuit i started last week 3 days a week....we shall see!

hehe, ok good, glad it's not just me.... well good luck, i'm gonna try it out too...  i know i've done something similar in the past (long long ago) where i would just tighten my abs as much as possible throughout the day.  if i was sitting on the couch watching tv, my abs were tightened, if i was working out, my abs were tightened, and i did this as often as i remembered throughout the day.  i am pretty sure i saw a difference... not sure why i stopped actually!
