OK so you know how GAP used to have a rep for really snotty salespeople? Well it sems like not much has changed! I've never had a problem there before, but earlier today I went in to look at this jacket:

I asked the salesman if they had any pants that matched it, because there were a bunch around the store that looked pretty close and I'd rather ask than waste my time running around looking at every pair. He looks at me like I'm crazy and says "No, you're SUPPOSED to wear it with JEANS." My jaw almost fell the the floor. Since when does the 17 year-old kid at the GAP think he can tell someone how to wear something??? I am an adult and I can wear whatever I want with whatever else I want, thanks. And he was a BOY! I was so aggravated I almost walked out but instead I put the blazer on hold so I can go back and get it when he's not there and I don't have to deal with his piss attitude! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well, the model isn't wearing jeans and it looks nice.  NOTHING can just be worn with one thing.  Screw him!

CALL AND COMPLAIN!!!!  I would start by calling that stored manager and then I would call the corporate office.  That is ridiculous that would happen in a store like Gap.

Write a letter to the distric manager, not the store manager(you will get better results) if you are not comfortable calling, you would be amazed how seriously some places actually take this. When I worked at the Gap Kids 10 years ago, all I was allowed to say was we have pocket tees in every color and socks to match...guess they should have sticked to that...so sorry.

I would definately write a letter.  I do this whenever I get bad service.  The responses I have gotten have varied, from none at all to $50 gift certificates.  It only takes a few minutes, so it's worth it.  It helps to get it off your chest, and you might get something in return!

Honestly, he was rude, but I wouldn't bother with writing a letter. If I wrote a letter for every time I got back or so-so service in a store, all I would be doing is writing letters all the time.  It's just not worth it.  I just let it roll off when I get bad service. I don't really expect much from anyone when I go into a mall chain store.  Just my opinion.

Oh that sucks.  Every time I run across a rude salesperson I just toss (lightly) whatever I'm holding back at them and leave.  I refuse to buy anything if they are rude to me and I surely don't want them getting credit for a sale if they are rude!  Not sure how the complaining would go but it might get you a coupon for 10% off or something.  I just got something from Ruby Tuesdays for $5 off my next meal just because I said how I loved the salad bar but the rest of the menu scared me since they started putting Nutritional Info on it (I wasn't really meaning to complain).

It is pretty bad to get snobbed by a female sales associate, but it really sucks getting snobbed by a male sales associate.
