So my family gets together quite a bit and we are sick of standard BBQ food, steaks, dogs, burgers, the whole thing.  We also do Italian food quite a bit since we're Italian.  My mom was looking for unique food ideas to have at our BBQ on Sunday.  Any ideas?

Mexican? We do tacos, fajitas, or enchiladas with chips and salsa or queso a lot.

How about Seafood? We do boiled or steamed shrimp and crab legs with corn and potatoes, grilled or poached scallops occasionally, grilled fish... the possibilities are endless...

We love doing shish ke babs at BBQ's. You can do basics like chicken and veggies or steak and veggies or I love doing fish and veggie ones. Then everyone can custom make what they want. Rice is always good to do with them or if you want more unique, cous cous is great too.

Also consider bbq ribs. They are so delicious!

Maybe do some unique or different appetizers. That would be less work and still add something new to the meal. I have a great cheese dip recipe that we often use for get togethers that everyone loves. I can give you the recipe if you would like.

DH and I love to BBQ Boboli pizza's, they taste great on the grill. You can by a bunch of different toppings and let everyone make their own individual ones!
Topping suggestions
Cheese
Peppers
Pepperoni
Chicken
Sausage
Artichoke
Zucchini
Tomatoes
pretty much anything!

Then put them on the grill with the top closed for a few minutes for the cheese to melt and brown a bit and yummy!
