I just got one yesterday and I cant remember if its normal that some of the color comes off when I pat it dry? I do have others, but its been so long! I know my artist will touch it up for free if I need it, but I really dont want the pain of the needle over my scar again!!! and i have to wear a top over it at all times....
Oh great... thank you! Im just so scard of having to go back and get touchup. I never had to for my other ones and those are colored too. But it hurt more than normal cause of my scar.
I just gotta keep applying a thin layer of the stuff he gave me through out the days right? especially if my tops are always covering it?
Anywhoo, here are the instructions that were given to me:
Wash your tattoo 2 - 3 times a day (DO NOT let the shower spray directly on the tattoo) with cool water, pat dry and apply a VERY THIN AMOUNT of A&D ointment. Do not overload your tattoo with ointment.
After 3 days switch to a NON FRAGRANCE lotion instead of A&D ointment. Keep tattoo from drying out, until ALL signs of scabbing disappear (usually 7- 10 days)
DO NOT soak tattoo in any type of water after first washing (including lakes, ponds, the ocean, saunas, pools, etc.).
DO NOT use Vaseline on tattoo.
DO NOT expose tattoo to direct sunlight during the healing time.
DO NOT put suntal lotion on your tattoo during healing time.
REMEMBER: SUN DESTROYS TATTOOS Please use a high quality and high numbered sunscreen on your tattoo any time you are in the sun to keep it looking it's best.
I hope this helps!
