kitchen trashcan for single girl?
Permalink Closed

Hey guys -
I recently had to throw out my trashcan - this is gross but it was totally full of fruitfly larvae, and I wasn't going to battle with that.  Anyway, before I just go get something random from Ross or Target - do any of you guys have a trashcan you love?  I know this is a dumb question, but you never know!
Also I mentioned I'm single just because I'm not going to get a huge trashcan -
TIA!

I love my simple human trash cans (one for trash, one for recycle).  They look nice and it has a plastic insert so if it gets dirty you don't have to deal with a clunky trash can, you can take out the insert to wash.  It has the foot pedel to open.  It's stainless with a black top.  I have the 8 gallon size.

I love my simple human can as well.  When the insert gets too smelly, you can rinse it with some water and leave it out in the hot sun for a few hours, it naturally deodorizes without having to get in there with your gloved hands and spray.

Check Costco too - the no-name one I got there several years ago I think was better quality than the SH one I just replaced it with. Got a little rusty and lost its shine, though, so I wanted to replace it. : /

By the way there's two of us in our household and most weeks we don't fill it up!

i just got metal trash can with a step thing so the lid opens from target.  i hadn't been trash can shopping in quite some time, and was amazed how expensive they are!!  most were around 80-100!!

my mom is a clean freak and we never needed a big trashcan even for a family of 4. She kept a simple rubbermaid trashcan lined with a plastic grocery store bag under the sink. It never got that dirty cuz it was always lined and it stayed out of the way under the sink.
