NYC girls, I need help!

I'm supposed to be attending some sort of "party" at an art gallery in Chelsea in a couple of weeks and I have NO idea what to wear to something like that.

I don't think it's like a gallery opening where you'd look at the art and have hors d'oeuvres. It sounds more like a party thats just being held in an art gallery. I have very few details.

Any ideas? Please?

Even if it is a gallery opening, the dress code is pretty much anything goes.

I guess the default is to wear a fancy top with jeans, but that might be a bit boring.


What about a skirt with a more casual top?


OK I'm just being lazy and those were the two outfits from Blaec.com that seemed appropriate. I'll take a look around for you. What general style do you want?

I never ever wear skirts, so I think I'd like to rule that out as an option. I do have some nice pants I could wear and a pair of dark trouser style jeans that fit well. So maybe just some top suggestions?
