Big plans for the fourth of July?

What are you doing for the fourth?  I am taking a "staycation."  Unfortunately, I have to come into work on Tuesday for a meeting, it's important so I'm doing what I have to do, but I wish my vacation was uninterrupted.  I'll also be spending time on my mother's house getting it ready to list...  Hopefully I'll be able to take some time for bbq and fireworks on the weekend.

Enough about me, what are you all doing for the fourth of July?

I don't really have plans. We are getting an extra day off from work so I'll be vegging out all day Thursday and Friday and then Saturday night the only plans Mike and I have is our standing date night for the UFC fight.

We're having a BBQ at our house and then heading over to Navy Pier for the fireworks. Chicago girls with nothing to go give me a shout we'd love to have you over, we'll have plenty of eats!!

My cousin's band is playing a concert that night at a bar in the middle of a festival, so I'm going to try and get my BF, my other cousin, and her BF to come with me. It's also the day before my OTHER cousin's wedding so I might help her. *Another* cousin is coming in town for the wedding so I'm going to definitely be hanging out with her a lot.

So it's going to be a very family-oriented holiday :)

Staycation...I've been hearing that word a lot lately. Anyway, I will be having one of those too. As for the actual 4th, going to a pool party/BBQ at a friend's house.

We're going to see my family (2 hrs away) b/c it's my nephew's b-day on the 4th. They bought a big inflatable waterslide thing from Costco so we'll probably all play in there and then maybe go to Monterey on one of those days.

During the day, we'll be driving from our friend's house in San Antonio to my in-law's house just outside of Fort Worth.  They live on a lake and the town does their fireworks show over the lake, so I'm looking forward to it.  Should be pretty!

Fourth of July is my favorite holiday!  I'm going up to North Carolina to visit my sister.  Hopefully barbeque at our cabin and watch some beautiful fireworks.  We're going tubing on Saturday too, so that should be fun.  I love summer!

Looks like we'll be spending the weekend in IL with my in-laws.  They live in a lake community, so I am sure there are plans to take the boat out.  I'm looking forward to seeing family anf friends we haven't seen since Feb.  But I am so not looking forward to a 6+ hour drive, and the money we'll spend on fuel.

My in-law's always have this huge blowout.  It's complete w/ animal roasting and illegal firework's headbang.gif


It should be pretty hilarious this year.  Both of my husband's sister's are dating super-yup's from the city.  I PLEADED with my FIL to get a port-a-potty as a joke, I even told him I would pay for it.  Le Sigh - he wouldn't go for it.

We're going to be going to my parents' condo on Lake Norman (outside Charlotte, NC) for the long weekend. Lots of cooking, drinking, swimming, and sunshine. YAY!

Yay, a day off. Boo, I have to spend it with my in-laws unless I can fake a summer cold/flu/food poisoning/conjunctivitis/highly contagious rash/virulent strain of diarrhea/other infectious disease.
