I'm not sure but her pics of the tags aren't clear enough to soothe my suspicions.  You might wanna check this site out.

I also tried to google that style number on the tag and nothing came up if that helps.  In the past I've done that and stuff has come up on google.

I may be completely off, but don't the ones w/ the gold thread on the back pockets have a gold button too? That button is silver...I don't own them, just tried them on once, so i may be wrong...

i'm going with fake for the following reasons:

*super low start price.  $0.99 is ridiculous.

*item location it's in hong kong, which for me is a red flag

*the pics really aren't that great. don't know if it's just poor quality, but the jeans look kind of fake in the pics. plus if you read the auction, the seller says something about having one pic for all the items.  another warning sign

*although all the feedback is positive, a lot of it is from repeat bidders. i know that ebay takes this into account, it would make me nervous.

I'm sure they're fake...the jeans look fake in the pic. Probably the most glaring thing for me was the fact that the "7" tag is not the right size and looks like it was sewn on incorrectly.

The ebay auction

A real pair from designsbystephanie.com (I wanted to post from Shopbop of Active Endeavors, but neither site had good pictures of the tags...this is the best that I could do.)

The tags stops very close to the stitiching in the real pair but not in the EBay pair.

I have those jeans.  To me, these look fake.  But pretty good fakes.  I don't remember all that whiskering in the front either.  Mine are not so distressed.   I can check the tag on mine when I get home and let you know if it's the same.  Oh wait the auction is ending before then....

My gut feeling is don't bid.  I didn't find the word authentic anywhere.  And the wash name (Costa Rica) is never even mentioned.  I don't ever buy from other countries on eBay because 90% of the time they are selling fake merchandise.  Even if it were real, say produced especially for their country, the sizing might be off, or the quality different.  Sorry if it sounds mean but that's been my experience through others.

By the way I love those jeans.  They are comfortable and the leg width is a nice change from all the flared pairs I own.

OH. Okay, I just saw the Swarovski pair they're selling and those are DEFINITELY fake.  No doubt.  Don't bid!!
